The State Institution "Territorial Medical Association of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region" is an independent state multidisciplinary health care institution, which combines medical and preventive and other units that provide medical care to persons, in accordance with the law, is entitled to medical care in health care institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The State Department of Medical Care is a budgetary, non-profit institution that belongs to the sphere of management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and is operationally subordinated to the Department of Health and Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. 

The staffing table and structure of the MIA TMA are approved by the State Secretary of the MIA of Ukraine. The SI TMA is a legal entity of public law, has registration and special registration accounts in the bodies of the State Treasury Service of Ukraine, a seal with its full name and the State Emblem of Ukraine, letterheads, and stamps with its name, has an independent balance sheet and carries out office work in accordance with the legislation and regulations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, ensures compliance with the secrecy regime in its activities.

The SI TMA includes a hospital for 50 beds (with a polyclinic); a medical (military medical) commission; a center for psychiatric care and professional psychophysiological selection; a center for preventive medicine; a sector for social and humanitarian issues.
The main tasks of the Department are:

1. Management of subdivisions that are part of it, ensuring proper conditions for their effective functioning.

2. Provision of medical care to persons who, in accordance with the law, have the right to medical care in the MIA, according to the standards of medical care.

3. Exercising control over the physical and mental state of health of persons who, in accordance with the law, have the right to medical care in the MIA medical institutions, with appropriate correction.

4. Conducting medical and military medical examinations by the medical (military-medical) commission.
